CABLE BAY

Cable Bay Vineyards was created by a small group of wine lovers, passionate about New Zealand and its wines. Premium wine has been produced by the company since 2002, with carefully selected vineyard sites in two of New Zealand’s most exciting regions – Waiheke Island and Marlborough. Headed by chief winemaker Neill Culley, with over 20 years experience in the wine industry, the Cable Bay winemaking and viticultural teams aim to produce wines of elegance, sophistication and depth.

Cable Bay Vineyard’s stunning Waiheke Island winery complex first opened its doors in early 2007. In just over a year an enviable reputation for great food and wine has been established, with an unrelenting focus on quality. Stunning bush and sea views overlooking the inner Hauraki Gulf and back to downtown Auckland are enriched by an extensive art collection, featuring expressive sculptures and paintings by New Zealand artists.

Neill Culley - (Winemaker) is an innovative traditionalist who is renown for producing premium wines. His winemaking philosophy centres on understanding and accenting the unique characteristics that each vineyard contributes to a wine. To achieve this vision, he blends wines produced from Cable Bay's different vineyards to produce sophisticated wines with excellent regional characteristics. His care and commitment to growing outstanding grapes, combined with traditional low intervention winemaking techniques, produces appealing wines with layers of interest that evolve in the glass.
